Building the evidence

Since 2013, Batalo East has grown from a single festival into a year-round programme of productions, academies, exchanges and outreach. Each edition of the Batalo Dance Festival now draws over 1,000 young performers from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo.
